Wine Educator

Lily Peterson

Throughout her life, wine has been a focal point for Lily. Its social and anthropological weight sparked her interest through its traditional value as a part of her family meals. Lily was introduced to wines of the world when she began managing a small wine selection for a gourmet market in Wilmington, N.C. After three years of developing the wine program and tasting events, she moved to NYC and landed at Best Cellars in Manhattan. After falling in love with Italian wines, Lily spent a summer in Italy studying wines at Apicius Culinary Institute in Florence. It was there that she realized her calling to be “close to the vine.” Napa Valley was the clear choice, as it is truly the epicenter for quality wine production in the U.S. and a place she could continue her studies through the Wine and Spirit Education Trust at COPIA.
